Esto permite desacoplar la generaci\u00f3n\/uso de energ\u00eda y suministrar energ\u00eda a sectores que no pueden electrificarse f\u00e1cilmente (o depender de bater\u00edas), como el transporte pesado y las aeronaves.<\/p>\n\n<p>El hidr\u00f3geno es el ejemplo paradigm\u00e1tico de estos planteamientos. Aunque actualmente la mayor parte del hidr\u00f3geno se genera industrialmente a partir del gas natural, el proceso de electr\u00f3lisis del agua para obtener hidr\u00f3geno es un claro ejemplo de tecnolog\u00eda PtG. Por supuesto, s\u00f3lo si nos aseguramos de que la energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica procede de renovables, puede ser sostenible.<\/p>\n\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de utilizar el agua para producir hidr\u00f3geno, tambi\u00e9n podemos utilizar el CO<sub>2<\/sub> (en combinaci\u00f3n con agua, hidr\u00f3geno o nitr\u00f3geno) para obtener otros productos potenciales: desde amon\u00edaco hasta combustibles sint\u00e9ticos de aviaci\u00f3n, pasando por metanol u otros.<\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"948\" height=\"658\" src=\"https:\/\/soldac-project.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2024\/02\/28_02_2024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30824\" srcset=\"https:\/\/soldac-project.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2024\/02\/28_02_2024.png 948w, https:\/\/soldac-project.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2024\/02\/28_02_2024-300x208.png 300w, https:\/\/soldac-project.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2024\/02\/28_02_2024-768x533.png 768w, https:\/\/soldac-project.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2024\/02\/28_02_2024-50x35.png 50w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 948px) 100vw, 948px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p>Dependiendo de la fuente, dado que el CO<sub>2<\/sub> es uno de los principales gases de efecto invernadero, \u00a1tenemos la posibilidad de conseguir emisiones netas cero! De hecho, si fu\u00e9ramos capaces de capturar y utilizar las emisiones de CO<sub>2<\/sub> equivalentes del 1% de los superricos, estimadas en una media de 3 millones de ton<sub>CO2eq<\/sub> al a\u00f1o, podr\u00edamos alcanzar casi el 2% de la producci\u00f3n anual mundial de metanol. Y no s\u00f3lo se pueden producir combustibles, sino tambi\u00e9n productos qu\u00edmicos importantes. El etileno, un compuesto importante en la industria qu\u00edmica utilizado como precursor de pl\u00e1sticos, puede obtenerse mediante P2X con emisiones significativamente inferiores al proceso industrial actual. Significa que s\u00f3lo con las emisiones de CO<sub>2<\/sub> equivalentes a las de Taylor Swift en 2022, podr\u00edamos generar &gt; 2,5 toneladas de etileno, as\u00ed que \u00a1imag\u00ednate el potencial!<\/p>\n\n<p>El Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n en Energ\u00eda de Catalu\u00f1a, en colaboraci\u00f3n con la Universidad de Edimburgo, est\u00e1 desarrollando una unidad electroqu\u00edmica capaz de convertir eficazmente en etileno el CO<sub>2<\/sub> procedente de una unidad de captura directa de aire.
